Statement by Tammy Martin on ER Closures in Cape Breton

SYDNEY – Tammy Martin, NDP MLA For Cape Breton Centre and NDP Spokesperson for Health and Wellness, made the following statement about the number of emergency room closures in Cape Breton this weekend:

“With closures at the Northside General, New Waterford, Glace Bay and Baddeck hospitals this weekend we are really getting to the point where people have to ask, is the hospital open or closed? Health care is in crisis in Cape Breton, and instead of solutions we see further cutbacks and closures. Cape Bretoners deserve to know whether this Liberal government is going to keep emergency rooms open or not.”
