Nova Scotia remains a 15 cent jurisdiction in a $15 world

Halifax – NDP Leader Gary Burrill made the following statement in reaction to today’s announcement that minimum wage will increase by 15 cents this spring:

“The McNeil government is keeping Nova Scotia as a 15 cent jurisdiction in a $15 world. This year, Alberta will become the first province to set its minimum wage at $15 with Ontario not far behind in 2019.

Increasing the minimum wage gives workers the money they need to afford basic needs and helps the economy by increasing spending at local businesses.”
