Statement from NDP Internal Services spokesperson on additional FOIPOP issues

HALIFAX - NDP spokesperson for Internal Services Dave Wilson made the following statement in response to today’s update on the FOIPOP portal privacy breach:
“Considering the security weaknesses identified by the Auditor General the Liberal government shouldn’t be surprised that this data was accessed more than the single time we first heard about three weeks ago.
Thousands of Nova Scotians have to provide private information to the government every day to access services. Premier McNeil and his government need to acknowledge the system in place wasn’t good enough and tell people what is being done moving forward to protect private information.”
