Statement from NDP Education Spokesperson on the NSTU leaving the Council to Improve Classroom Conditions

Halifax – NDP Spokesperson for Education and Early Childhood Development, Claudia Chender, made the following statement in reaction to the NSTU’s decision to end its participation on the Council to Improve Classroom Conditions:

“Today’s decision by the NSTU is a direct result of the Department’s choice to implement the recommendations of the Glaze Report without consultation or fair warning to those it will affect.

The government’s hasty implementation of this report sidelines the work of the Council and the Commission on Inclusion and shows a disrespect for those ongoing efforts.”
