NSNDP Nominates Candidates Across Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia – The Nova Scotia NDP continues to nominate candidates for the next provincial election. The fixed election date of July 15, 2025 is now less than one year away.
“From Cape Breton, to the South Shore, to the Valley, and beyond, we have amazing Nova Scotians coming forward to be candidates in the next election,” said NSNDP leader Claudia Chender. “People know that we can do better: to address housing, to ease the cost of living, and to ensure that everyone actually has the health care they need. We need more MLAs who are dedicated to rolling up their sleeves to do the work to make things better. The candidates we’re nominating this week would make exceptional representatives.”
Abby Cameron was nominated as the NSNDP candidate in Hants East last night. She was the NSNDP candidate in 2021 and worked as a journalist and editor at the Enfield Weekly Press and The Laker.
Nova Scotia New Democrats are nominating another five candidates today. They are:
- Joanna Clark - Inverness
- Mary Stewart - Pictou Centre
- Gillian Yorke - Kings North
- Holly Fraughton - Dartmouth East
- Brian Skabar - Queens
NDP Leader Claudia Chender will attend the nomination meeting for Yorke, a local councillor and founding member of the Kings County Academy school cafeteria, this evening in Kentville.
