Zann calls on Premier to apologize to arts community

(Halifax, NS) Today’s report commissioned by Screen Nova Scotia demonstrates with great clarity that the Film Tax Credit was a major benefit to Nova Scotia’s economy, until the Liberals cut it. It’s now clear that every dollar spent on the Film Tax Credit generated seven dollars in new economic activity.

“Gutting the Film Tax Credit was a bad decision. Premier Stephen McNeil should admit the he was wrong, apologize to the arts community, and restore the Film Tax Credit,” says Lenore Zann, MLA for Truro-Bible Hill-Milbrook-Salmon River.

“Anything less is simply stubborn and economically foolish”.
