NDP Leader Gary Burrill, statement on the death of James (Buddy) McEachern

HALIFAX– NDP Leader Gary Burrill made the following statement in response to the news that former NDP MLA Buddy McEachern has died:

“Buddy McEachern was a lifelong member of the NDP and served as MLA for Cape Breton Centre, and interim leader, at an important time in our party’s history. As a two-term MLA from 1974 to 1981, he worked diligently on behalf of the communities he represented. It is with great sadness and respect that we mark his passing.”
