Martin: Liberals must deal with state of emergency rooms

New Waterford-- NDP Health Spokesperson and Cape Breton Centre MLA Tammy Martin made the following statement about the province’s emergency rooms:

“We’re continuing to hear from doctors and other health care workers that our emergency rooms are overwhelmed. The situation is getting worse and there are public reports that Randy Delorey refused to tour the emergency department at the Regional when he was in Sydney last month.

How can this government close our community hospitals in New Waterford and on the Northside without seeing firsthand the stress the Regional is already under? Emergency health care and the state of our ERs must be at the top of the list for the new Health Committee.”
