Feminist rally will highlight critical issues facing Nova Scotian women

Zann among speakers at today's event

Halifax – NDP Status of Women spokesperson Lenore Zann will speak today at a rally at Province House. The Nova Scotia Women – Together for Change march will take place today at noon and focus on Bill 148, a $15 minimum wage, intimate partner violence, and the elimination of poverty.

“Low wages, gender-based violence, and poverty are significant issues facing our province that cannot be ignored,” said Zann. “These issues also disproportionally affect women and we must continue to push for change on these issues.”

Feminist activists, women & allies will meet at 12 noon at Province House for the Rally for Change. Along with Zann, speakers include El Jones, Jenna Brookfield, and Masuma Asad Khan.
