NDP introduces legislation to restore free and fair collective bargaining

Statement by Tammy Martin, NDP Labour spokesperson

SYDNEY – NDP Labour spokesperson Tammy Martin made the following statement on the introduction of legislation to repeal Bill 148:

“I was proud to stand in the legislature today to introduce a bill to restore free and fair collective bargaining in Nova Scotia by repealing Bill 148.

Stephen McNeil’s attacks on our communities are inexcusable. The people who care for our seniors, who safely get our children to school, and who serve our most vulnerable populations deserve respect, not a government that wants to tell them to shut up and get back to work.

The NDP Caucus is committed to defending the rights of all Nova Scotians, and to partnering with front-line workers to improve health care, education, and other services.”
