Burrill vows to hold Liberals accountable, bring South Shore issues to legislature

NDP leader in Bridgewater and Lunenburg today

BRIDGEWATER – NDP Leader Gary Burrill is visiting the South Shore today as the NDP Caucus prepares to return to the Legislature on September 21.

“When the Legislature opens, the NDP will hold Stephen McNeil and the Liberals accountable for their lack of action on the doctors’ shortage,” said Burrill. “When over 100,000 people don’t have a family doctor, you know something is seriously wrong with our government’s priorities.”

Burrill plans to meet with people in Bridgewater and Lunenburg to talk about the NDP’s priorities for the coming legislative session and hear from South Shore residents about what issues they feel are important for the provincial budget. The 2017-2018 budget will be introduced on September 26.

“We’re hearing from people on the South Shore about the massive increases in clear-cutting in our forests. We’re hearing from our coastal communities about concerns around the oil and gas regulatory review. You can count on the NDP to be raising these issues in the Legislature,” said Burrill.
